Not all pre-packed software products allow for the specifics in a customer's existing processes or general requirements. This leads to a customer having to modify their business to meet the service levels of software programmes.

We believe you should be able to run your company the way you want to and not just in line with software limitations. There are many ways to improve the efficiency of internal and external services. These can include the development of databases, automated processes, client access, reporting, analysis, etc.

In an effort to meet our clients' needs, Wharf IT has created a Product Development service. This facet of our business is highly scalable and can be offered either in its entirety or in segments.

Our Product Development service offers the following:

• A detailed audit of the client's specific needs is performed and then converted into a written Functional Requirement.
• Our design engineers then develop a Functional Specification, which is submitted to the client's expectations.
• Our design engineers assist and recommend the hardware platform for which the product will reside.
• Our programmers write the code for the product. The code is scrutinized by our senior developers to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• We conduct periodic Quality Assurance tests as the product is being developed.
• Upon completion of the initial product we write a thorough test script and perform comprehensive bench tests.
• Deficiencies and errors will be identified and corrected during this phase.
• Wharf IT will arrange for in-house test by writing test plans and organising an Alpha test. This test will simulate customer location. In the event deficiencies are identified they will be corrected by our programmers.
• Upon successful completion of the Alpha test, Wharf IT can then organise a Beta test. This test is conducted at the client's site with their participation. This test is important in that it allows for the client's user's reaction and minor product changes prior to product release and production.
• Wharf IT can assist with the online marketing via search engine optimisation, if necessary.
• We develop the necessary tools and documentation for installation, maintenance, user guides and appropriate training.
• Wharf IT will continue to maintain the product long after product release.
• Application development and application program interface development for both PC and UNIX Workstation.
